Maackia 031: Plants!

I’m Nathan Langley and this is Maackia, a monthly newsletter on today’s launch.

The truck arrived on Wednesday around noon. I was already outside working as my delivery of wood arrived early that morning. The wood was supposed to arrive on Monday, but like with so many things, the plans changed.

I didn’t really know what I was doing. I just needed some tables for the perennials to sit on. I didn’t know how many I needed either, so I made an educated guess. How hard could it be?

They still need some work, but I was able to get six tables made by the end of the day. They were of secondary importance anyway.

Just under 600 perennials were delivered — 80 or so different species / cultivars. We unloaded them, I inventoried them, and then moved them to the tables to give them a drink. Too much handling for one day, but it had to be done. Thankfully, everyone was happy and healthy!

I still have to make five more tables. Maybe six. But the photos of each plant are done and uploaded to the website. Might as well get this show on the road!

Then it’s on to creating a trial garden. Finally!
